When choosing a diamond, the Four Cs remain the international standard of quality.

Cut

The cut determines how brilliantly a diamond sparkles. A well-cut diamond reflects light beautifully, creating that unmistakable fire and brilliance. From the timeless Round Brilliant to the elegant Emerald or Princess cut, MDT DESIGN can help you discover which shape best reflects your personality.

Colour

Diamonds are graded from D (colourless) to Z (light yellow or brown). The closer to colourless, the rarer and more valuable the stone. However, colour is also a matter of taste – some clients love the warm glow of near-colourless diamonds, or the vibrant personality of natural fancy coloured diamonds such as yellow, pink, or blue.

Clarity

Clarity refers to the natural inclusions within a diamond. These inclusions can range from very obvious, to invisible to the naked eye. Clarity grades range from Flawless (no inclusions visible under 10x magnification) to Included. Our designers will show you exactly how each clarity grade looks, helping you balance beauty with value. All diamonds that MDT DESIGN choose for our jewellery are eye clean, with no visible inclusions. 

Carat

Carat weight measures the diamond’s size. While larger diamonds can be more rare, the right diamond is about proportion, not just weight. A well-cut 1.00ct diamond can appear larger and more brilliant than a poorly cut 1.20ct stone.
